The Vinton Volunteer Fire Department is a full service department with 26 members who are all Fire Fighter 1 certified with 11 members being Fire Fighter 2 certified. The department has at their disposal an aerial platform truck, city pumper, rural pumper, tanker, first response/pumper and two grass trucks. The department serves the City Of Vinton and surrounding area with mutual aid to the cities of Garrison, Shellsburg, Urbana, Brandon and Mt Auburn. The Vinton Fire department has a strong heritage that they are proud of and great support from city and community. The members are proud to be part of the department and serve the needs of the people.
