NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON THE PROPOSED SALE OF CITY OWNED REAL ESTATE
Notice is hereby given that the City of Vinton, Benton County, Iowa, proposes to sell and convey by Quit Claim Deed, the following described real estate situated in the City of Vinton:
Commencing at a point 85 ½ feet West of the Southeast corner of Lot Eight (8), in Block One (1), Smith, Traer and Tilford’s Addition to Vinton, Iowa, running thence North 79 feet, thence West 22 ½ feet, thence North 44 feet to alley, thence West along said alley to the Northwest corner of Lot Seven (7) in said Block One (1), thence South along the West line of said Lot Seven (7), to Whipple Street, thence East to place of beginning, being a part of Lot Seven (7), Block One (1), Smith, Traer and Tilford’s Addition to Vinton, Iowa.
The City Council will hold a Public Hearing on October 24, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. during the regular Council meeting of the City of Vinton City Council held at Vinton City Hall 110 W. 3rd Street, Vinton, IA 52349 at which time the Council will accept public comment on the Council’s proposal to sell the property described herein to Scott E. Hansen and Julie K. Hansen and Ronald J. Tippett and Cindy S. Tippett, abutting property owners, for $1,000.00 plus $750.00 in closing costs, or the total sum of $1,750.00. After acceptance of public comment, if any, and closing the public hearing, the City Council may act upon the proposal to sell and transfer said property.
Any person may appear at the Public Hearing to comment on the proposed sale and/or may submit written comments in advance of the Public Hearing by delivery of same to the City Clerk’s Office, at Vinton City Hall, during regular business hours, by mailing to the City of Vinton at P.O. Box 529, Vinton, Iowa, 52349, or by email to [email protected] on or before the date and time of the Public Hearing.
