VINTON CITY COUNCIL MEETING
APRIL 19, 2021
A special meeting of the City Council of Vinton, Iowa was held on the 19th day of April, 2021 at 6:00pm in the City Hall Council Chambers, Vinton, Iowa. Due to COVID-19 virus, the meeting was also held electronically using Zoom which was hosted at 110 W 3rd Street. Mayor Pro Tem Stark presided with roll being called the following Council Members were present and absent: Present – Edwards, Elwick, Gates, Hessenius, Parr, Stark. Absent – None.
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Motion by Gates, second by Hessenius to approve the agenda as presented. Question: Ayes – All. The Mayor Pro Tem declared the motion carried.
Motion by Elwick, second by Edwards to approve change order #1 for the Vinton Street Improvements. Question: Ayes – Edwards, Elwick, Gates, Hessenius, Parr, Stark. Nays – None. The Mayor Pro Tem declared the motion carried. This is to provide a connection point for future water main extension on A Avenue.
Motion by Parr, second by Elwick to approve change order #2 for the Vinton Street Improvements. Question: Ayes – Edwards, Elwick, Gates, Hessenius, Parr, Stark. Nays – None. The Mayor Pro Tem declared the motion carried. This is for sanitary sewer and manhole replacement at the intersection of 3rd Avenue and 8th Street.
Motion by Gates, second by Parr to approve change order #3 for the Vinton Street Improvements. Question: Ayes – Edwards, Elwick, Gates, Hessenius, Parr, Stark. Nays – None. The Mayor Pro Tem declared the motion carried. This is for concrete found beneath seal coat on 6th Street.
Motion by Parr, second by Hessenius to approve change order #4 for the Vinton Street Improvements. Question: Ayes – Edwards, Elwick, Gates, Hessenius, Parr, Stark. Nays – None. The Mayor Pro Tem declared the motion carried. This is for additional storm sewer pipe needed at the intersection of 9th Street and B Avenue.
Being no other business before the council, motion by Parr, second by Hessenius to adjourn. Question: Ayes – All. The Mayor Pro Tem declared the motion carried. Time 6:30pm.
