BUSINESS TYPE ACTIVITES COMMITTEE MEETING
JULY 27, 2023
A business type activities committee meeting of the City Council of Vinton, Iowa was held on the 27th day of July, 2023 at 5:30pm in City Hall Council Chambers, Vinton, Iowa. The following committee members were present: Stark, Elwick, Pflughaupt. Mayor Maynard, Brad Burroughs representing the Street Department, Nate Bechtel with S&J Sanitation were also present. Julie Bechtel, S&J Sanitation, joined via Zoom.
Committee members discussed fall cleanup days 2023 and possible partnership with S&J Sanitation. S&J Sanitation has experience with curbside cleanup in other communities. The committee discussed offering the existing cleanup program and curbside on the same day.
No council action was taken.

GENERAL GOVERNMENT COMMITTEE MEETING

A general government committee meeting of the City Council of Vinton, Iowa was held on the 27th day of July, 2023 at 6:15pm in City Hall Council Chambers, Vinton, Iowa. The following committee members were present: Pflughaupt, Stark, Gates. Council Member Elwick, Mayor Maynard and Chief Paxton were also present.
Committee members discussed digital access to governmental meetings. Paxton showed a video clip of the Mevo camera system which is the same platform Benton County uses. A governmental YouTube account could be set up to view the recordings.
The committee will recommend the above to the City Council.
