The City of Vinton is taking applications for appointments to various city boards and commissions. Anyone that is at least 18 years old may apply. The terms and dates of appointments vary and they are unpaid positions. Applications are available on the city’s website: www.vintoniowa.net.

*Airport Commission: Five-member board. To help manage operations at the airport.
*Board of Adjustments: Five-member board. To hear requests for variances to zoning regulations.
*Building & Housing Board of Appeals: Five-member board. To make recommendations to city council on housing issues.
*Library Board: Nine-member board. To help guide daily library operations.
*Parks & Recreation Board: Seven-member board. To help guide and plan recreational activities.
*Planning & Zoning Commission: Seven-member commission. To review requests for a change in zoning and make recommendation back to city council.
