SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING
JULY 30, 2024
A special meeting of the City Council of Vinton, Iowa was held on the 30th day of July 2024, at 6:00 p.m., in the City Hall Council Chambers, Vinton, Iowa. Mayor Maynard presided, and the roll being called the following Council Members were present and absent: Present: Elwick, Hessenius, Recker, and Stark-Mahood. Absent: Parmater and Pflughaupt
Motion by Stark-Mahood, second by Hessenius to approve the agenda. Question: Ayes – All. Mayor Maynard declared the motion carried.
Motion by Stark-Mahood, second by Elwick to approve a special events application for Rooster Auto Movie Night. Question: Ayes – All. Mayor Maynard declared the motion carried.
Motion by Recker, seconded by Elwick to enter closed session as permitted by Iowa Code Section 21.5 (1)(j) to discuss the purchase of real estate where premature disclosure could be reasonably expected to increase the price the governmental body would have to pay for the property (potential purchase/acquisition 1 and 2). Question: Ayes – Hessenius, Stark-Mahood, Recker, and Elwick. Nays – None. Mayor Maynard declared the motion carried.
Motion by Hessenius, seconded by Elwick to return to open session pursuant to Iowa Code 21.5(3). Question; Ayes- Hessenius, Elwick, Stark-Mahood, and Recker. Nays- None. Mayor Maynard declared the motion carried.
There being no further business, Stark-Mahood made a motion to adjourn the meeting seconded by Recker. The meeting was unanimously adjourned at 6:28 p.m.
