WORK SESSION
NOVEMBER 27, 2023
A work session of the City Council of Vinton, Iowa was held on the 27th day of November 2023 at 6:00pm in City Hall Council Chambers, Vinton, Iowa. The following council members were present: Gates, Hessenius, Parmater, Pflughaupt, Stark & Mayor Maynard.
Tionna Pooler, the City’s financial advisor was present to discuss the need to raise water and sewer rates soon. While no project is planned in the immediate future for the water department, it’s prudent to raise rates a bit to begin saving for upcoming capital projects and upgrades. Sewer rates will need a dramatic increase to finance the necessary plant improvements. Pooler provided a variety of alternatives for increases.
No council action was taken.
