GENERAL GOVERNMENT COMMITTEE MEETING
OCTOBER 19, 2023
A general government committee meeting of the City Council of Vinton, Iowa was held on the 19th day of October, 2023 at 5:30pm in City Hall Council Chambers, Vinton, Iowa. The following committee members were present: Pflughaupt, Stark & Gates. Council member Elwick and Mayor Maynard were also present.
Committee members discussed the current regulations in the City ordinances related to signs and placement of signs. There is a delicate balance between regulation of signs and discrimination if the City were to allow some signs to be placed in the right of way. The City Administrator was directed to contact the City Attorney with some questions.
