COUNCIL WORK SESSION

A work session of the City Council of Vinton, Iowa was held on the 11th day of May, 2023 at 6:30pm in the City Hall Council Chambers, Vinton, Iowa. The following council members were present: Elwick, Gates, Parmater, Pflughaupt and Mayor Maynard.
City Council met to discuss offering flex spending & dependent childcare accounts to employees. City staff has met with PDCM reps to discuss options. Council reviewed costs of the plan and how it would operate. There is general interest from employees but Council wishes to have more specific interest data.
City Council also discussed the requested changes to the personnel policy manual to take effect July 1, 2023. The big request was for longevity for all employees. An alternative will be drafted for review in the future.
No council action was taken.
