Library Director

The City of Vinton, Iowa is accepting applications for a full time Library Director for the Vinton Public Library. The position includes but is not limited to community programming, staff supervision, facilities management, budget & finance work, grant writing and cooperative work with the Library Board of Trustees and the Vinton City Council as needed.

Requirements:
• Master’s Degree in Library Science or Information Science or 5-7 years of director experience preferred. A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required.
• 3+ years of library / supervisory experience
• Good working knowledge of social media and other technology
• Individuals without a Master’s Degree must be willing to obtain said degree or State of Iowa Public Library Certification within 2 years of hire
• Preferential consideration will be given to candidates who are willing to reside in Vinton
