A special meeting of the City Council of Vinton, Iowa, was held on the 24th day of March, 2020, at 5:30 p.m., in Vinton, Iowa. Due to the COVID-19 virus this meeting was held electronically using the Zoom app. Mayor Maynard presided and the roll being called the following Council Members were present and absent: Present: Edwards, Elwick, Hessenius, Hesson, Parr, Stark. Absent: None.
Four people, Amy Edison, Gerald Horst, Melissa Mosher and Mike Elwick, each have submitted an application to be appointed to the VMEU/VMCU Board of Trustees. Each applicant had the opportunity to talk to council about what they would suggest for short-term and long-term planning for the electric and communications utilities. Council plans to make appointments at their meeting Thursday night.
Motion by Hessenius, second by Stark to adjourn the meeting. Question: Ayes – All. The motion carried. Time: 6:11 p.m.
